The Summit Players is a non-profit theatre company dedicated to providing free, high-quality Shakespeare workshops and performances throughout the Wisconsin State Parks.  Productions are pared down to 75 minutes and are preceded by a 45 minute workshop in which children and adults have an opportunity to learn the basics of Elizabethan history, information about William Shakespeare, play with text and explore some famous characters.

The Summit Players' mission is to present free, accessible, innovative theatre to families around Wisconsin and spark a love of language in minds of all ages. The players use theatre as a learning medium and introduce children to a passion for language, communicating, and constructive play, while providing adults with an enjoyable theatrical experience.  As the first project of its kind in Wisconsin, the Summit Players build connections between Shakespeare, the outdoors, and fun! To do so, we seek innovative and original ways to perform, to connect the classics to our contemporary time. We seek to engage with the community and community organizations like the Wisconsin  Department of Natural Resources to encourage overlap between the arts and community recreation.
