About the Museum

Mission, Vision & Core Values

Children’s Museums are places where discovery and curiosity are brought to life through a touchable learn-by-doing atmosphere designed to foster creativity and a passion for lifelong learning. In a children’s museum, children and adults play, learn and have fun together. CMFDL serves 24,000 visitors annually onsite and at community events.

The mission of the Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac is to create hands-on learning experiences through interactive exhibits and educational programs that will engage children and their caregivers in the partnership of learning through play.

The vision is to provide a safe place where children can learn about their communities and culturally diverse world.

At the heart of our Core Values, the Children’s Museum has a respect for childhood and for the relationship between children and their caregivers. The museum supports the theory that there is great value and power in constructive play. This imaginative play inspires a passion for lifelong learning. The ability to enhance educational opportunities within the community directs the design of our exhibits and programs. These programs foster creativity, discovery and curiosity among visitors. The exhibits will build confidence and encourage children to connect with the people and places in their world.

CMFDL is a member of the Association of Children’s Museums and encourages you to visit the many other extraordinary children’s museums throughout the country. The Children’s Museum of Fond du Lac is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization.
