Schlitz Audubon Nature Center is an oasis of natural beauty and habitat located on the shores of Lake Michigan – just 15 minutes from downtown Milwaukee. We connect people of all ages with nature and inspire them to become responsible stewards of the natural world.

While we graciously restore and preserve our 185-acre sanctuary for all to enjoy, we also treasure the opportunity to nurture the minds, bodies, and spirits of all who visit. There is abundant research showing the positive impact of nature on people of all ages – this is why we are so dedicated and passionate about what we do!

We offer unlimited opportunities for personal life enrichment by providing:

Natural science education for audiences of all ages.

A magnificent, natural habitat for personal solitude or more active pursuits, such as hiking or cross-country skiing.

Volunteer and internship opportunities in environmental education and stewardship.
