10 Best Music Lessons in Wisconsin

Music is a form of expression and a catalyst for creation. Learning music early on in life can aid in development, and learning music later on in life can provide someone with a hobby or a means of expressing emotions. There are a number of lessons available in North Carolina to help pursue your musical interests. Here are our favorites in the state!   

Bradley Fish, Madison, WI

Bradley Fish is a self-proclaimed musician, producer, and music coach. He operates out of Sound Hatchery Studio, which is 1,500 square-feet of space to record and learn in. He offers a number of different private lessons, which welcome families or groups, teach all styles and levels, and produce demos if wanted.

Jim’s Music & Teaching Center, Green Bay, WI

When visiting the website for Jim’s Music & Teaching Center, there are several different locations to choose from for lessons. Those locations include Green Bay, Escanaba, Marquette, and Iron Mountain. Choose a location and then browse individual teachers who offer services in that area. There’s also an instrument filter to help narrow down the searching process.

SSE Music, La Crosse, WI

SSE Music has been servicing local musicians since 1985, according to its website. As for music lessons specifically, SSE has six instructors for several different instruments. Those instruments include violin, viola, piano, trombone, euphonium, drums, percussion, clarinet, guitar, and mandolin. There are also voice lessons available as well as music theory lessons.

Reed Music Studios, Onalaska, WI

The website for Reed Music Studios claims, “Structured on the foundation of excellence, the studio provides quality music instruction within a caring and appealing learning environment.” They also offer performance opportunities as well as their traditional one-on-one lessons. Most lessons last about 30 minutes per week and are given throughout the entire year.  

Heid Music, Appleton, WI

Heid Music offers lesson programs as well as access to individual teachers who provide private lessons. The areas Heid Music services are Appleton, Green Bay, Madison, and Oshkosh. As for the cost—it’s extremely affordable. Students pay a one-time fee of $25 to have access to the teacher database, and after that it’s about $20 to $30 per lesson. Learn at a heightened rate or take monthly lessons, the schedule is yours to control.

Morgan Music, Eau Claire, WI

They do things a little different at Morgan Music, but different isn’t a bad thing. What makes Morgan Music unique is that they have in-house instructors, rather than providing students with a database of teachers. They employ instructors for piano, trumpet, guitar, percussion, and so much more.

Heywood Music Studios, Stevens Point, WI

At Heywood Music Studios, lessons are offered for all ages and stages. The owner states on the website, “My objective is to help every musician grow to their full potential and discover what makes them unique! It is my personal goal to provide the finest instruction for each of my students. Abbey Music Lessons, Milwaukee, WI

Abbey Music is unique in that it provides lessons for harmonica and toddlers—two categories music isn’t always offered in. Sound Check Studios, West Allis, WI

Start out as young as five or begin learning at age 55, either way Sound Check Studios will find an instructor for you. They offer a database of local instructors as well as in-house ones. If you’re a brand-new patron, they offer your first four music lessons for only $50; be sure to check the website to confirm the offer. Regardless of the offer, Sound Check Studios prides itself on the quality of its instruction.

Madison Music Foundry, Fitchburg, WI

Play in a group setting or learn one-on-one with an instructor at Madison Music Foundry. They have a program category where students can play in workshops as well as concerts.
