The City of Two Rivers, in cooperation with the Robert E. Burns Post 165 of The American Legion, observes Memorial Day.

Activities begin in Central Park East at 8 a.m. with a reading of the honor roll and tolling of the bell to honor the 43 members of the U.S. Armed Forces from Two Rivers who were killed in action from the Civil War to the present. A wreath-laying ceremony will follow at the Soldiers Monument.

The parade begins at 9 a.m led by Grand Marshal Tommy Knapp. The route begins at Washington Street and 18th Street, north to 22nd Street, west to Forest Avenue, and north to Calvary Pioneers Rest Cemetery at 1801 26th Street.

At 9:30, a ceremony will be held on the platform at Pioneers Rest. Guest speaker is retired chaplain Teri (Loeser) Wagner. Following that program, the combined firing squads of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars will also pay tribute to veterans at Forest View/Holy Cross Cemetery located at 3801 Mishicot Road.

In the event of rain, the observance will be held in the J.E. Hamilton Community House located at 1710 West Park Street in Two Rivers.
