Waukesha County Parks is hosting a large-scale volunteer tree planting event in Fox River Park. Residents and groups are invited to help reforest and enhance the park.
“Planting trees not only enhances our public spaces, we’ll also be leaving a legacy for Waukesha County residents to enjoy for years to come,” said County Executive Paul Farrow. “Adding trees to county lands in honor of Arbor Day is one of my favorite traditions!”
Volunteers and county staff will be planting 250 native tree seedlings from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Nursery. Volunteers interested in assisting with planting the native tree seedlings should pre-register for a time slot online at http://waukeshacounty.maxgalaxy.net/BrowseActivities.aspx by typing “Arbor Day” in the search box or call (262) 896-8074. Attendees will receive free park entrance and a free seedling to take home (while supplies last). Pre-registration is required by April 22nd to ensure a spot.
